What to Expect Your First Class
• Come Hydrated - It’s best to start drinking water well before class , and then limit water intake starting 45 minutes before class so as to minimize trips to the restroom during class.
• Arrive 15 minutes early to get signed in and set up.
• Bring water to sip during class.
• Wear light, fitted clothing
• Expect to sweat
• Take breaks if needed
• Stay in the room
Your first class is about participation — not perfection.
Start Where You Are
Bikram Yoga is a structured 90-minute sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises practiced in a heated room. The sequence is designed to systematically work the entire body — muscles, joints, spine, circulation, and internal systems — in a consistent and repeatable format.
No prior yoga experience is required. The class is guided step-by-step, making it accessible to beginners while remaining deeply challenging for experienced practitioners.
You do not need to be flexible. You only need to show up.
Why the Heat?
Classes are practiced in a room heated to approximately 105°F with controlled humidity.
The heat is not incidental — it serves specific physiological purposes:
• Increases circulation and oxygen delivery
• Promotes muscular elasticity and safer stretching
• Supports joint mobility
• Elevates heart rate for cardiovascular conditioning
• Encourages detoxification through sweat
• Builds focus and mental resilience
The humidity helps prevent excessive dehydration and supports balanced muscular flexibility compared to dry heat environments.
The heat is a tool — not a gimmick.
This practice is cumulative.
Because the sequence remains the same each class, your body learns it. Your alignment improves. Your strength builds. Your endurance increases. Progress becomes measurable.
Consistency — not intensity — produces results.
Students who practice 2–4 times per week often begin noticing meaningful changes within the first month. Over time, the physical and mental benefits compound.
This is not random movement. It is a disciplined method designed for long-term health.
